This Quick Transmigration Experience Is A Bit Sweet Chapter 04

Fu Xin got up at 4 am in the morning to brush his teeth and wash his face. He fumbled his hands around in his drawer for a while before he managed to find an old five yuan bill*.

He ended up spending about an hour walking down this road even thought the distance wasn’t far. He has almost finished using up his pay so he needed to spend time picking up recyclable bottles to earn some money.

His backpack was still with Zong Yuan but he was not concerned at all because no one, not the teacher nor the students, would care if he didn’t finish his school assignments.

Zong Yuan yawned. He was following behind Fu Xin while carrying two school bags. The sun hadn’t risen yet so it was still a bit chilly. He watched Fu Xin poke at garbage bins and the grass with a tree branch, and with expertise, he stomped the bottles flat and placed them into a plastic bag. “… Is this how Fu Xin earns money?”

0046 shook its head, “He works during his winter and summer breaks. Normally He spends his entire day in class and the self-study sessions in the early morning or late evening. He probably has used up his pay already.

“It’s fine if he spends it himself, but I’m afraid that his amoral parents would take his money.”

Zong Yuan hid behind a utility pole. He didn’t know what to say, how does a high school student provide for himself.

Without money, there’s no choice but to starve.

He stuck his hands into his pockets and he pursed his lips into a tight line. He suddenly had no motivation to keep following behind him so he went to a nearby breakfast stand to buy breakfast. He was reminded of a thought, “He probably hasn’t eaten breakfast yet, has he?”

By the time Zong Yuan arrived in class with a bag of steam buns and soy milk, there were already a few students there.

Fu Xin hasn’t arrived yet. He probably went to sell the plastic bottles. Zong Yuan placed the food on his table and then buried his head in his arms and went to sleep.

Just when Fu Xin walked through the school gates, he encountered He Xiu’xiu, who had just gotten out of a car. She glanced at him and scoffed.

She adjusted her clothing and spoke as if she was pitying him, “It’s best that you keep your distance from Zong Yuan, or else things would be worse for you if he found out about your perversion.”

Fu Xin recalled what Zong Yuan said yesterday; he clenched his hands, and calmly said, “No.”

Fu Xin entered the classroom, and the first thing he saw was Zong Yuan with his upper body sprawled relaxingly on the table. He then noticed the soy milk, steamed buns and his school bag on top of his own desk.

He subconsciously glanced at Zong Yuan and coincidently, he dazedly woke up and looked at Fu Xin, “You’re finally here?”

Fu Xin nodded his head and pointed at the items on the table, “Are those yours?”

Zong Yuan looked at the direction he pointed at and frowned, “Those are yours, hurry up and eat; they’re about to turn cold.”

His used his hands to touch each item and was ecstatic, “What a relief, they’re still warm. This steam bun is amazing.”

It was like Fu XIn’s heart was tackled a few times. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, not knowing what to say. He didn’t reject them. He held the buns in his hands and touched them through the plastic bag; the warm touch heated a path all the way to his heart. “Thanks.’

Zong Yuan watched him eat and the smell of the steamed buns travelled to the bottom of his nose. Even though he ate already, he now felt hungry again. He shamelessly spoke, “Fu Xin, let me have a bite.”

Fu Xin brought the bag close to his mouth and used the plastic bag to push up another steam bun next to the one that he had bitten into already. Without much thought, Zong Yuan pulled his wrist and bit into the steam bun that already had its fragrant meat filling exposed out— the one that Fu Xin bit into already. “So yummy.”

Fu Xin stared blanking at him while he took that bite and his face immediately turned red. He tried to hide his face by chewing on the buns with his head lowered. In just one bite, Fu Xin finished the bun that he just shared with another person, “…You smoked?”

He was still chewing the bun in his mouth and he could already smell the lingering cigarette smoke on the steamed bun.

Zong Yuan sniffed himself and felt that it was odd, “You can smell it?”

Fu Xin pointed at his mouth and muttered, “The portion you bit into has the smell of cigarettes.”

Zong Yuan leaned closer. His tall nose almost made contact with Fu Xin’s cheek. He took a sniff and still felt confused, “How come I only smell meat steam buns?”

Speechless, Fu Xin pushed away his face.

It has been a long time since Zong Yuan has woken up this early, but after sleeping through two periods of classes, he felt more energetic. This was the perfect timing for gym class.

Zong Yuan was tall so even if he stood at the back of the line, he was still very noticeable. The gym teacher chuckled, “You’re so tall, it would be great for you to play basketball.”

They were free to do anything in this period of class so they played basketball. Both teams each had five members and no substitute players were needed. The crowd formed a large circle to watch the bustling game.

Zong Yuan took off his jacket and found Fu Xin in the crowd of people. Locking onto his target, he walked over. His white t-shirt couldn’t hide away his nice physique. “Help your brother hold this.”

Fu Xin hugged onto his jacket and held onto it tightly. His eyes followed his back and he watched him run off to do warm up exercises.

For highschoolers, as long as the person wasn’t too fat, it was easy to be complemented by others for having a nice body shape. Furthermore, Zong Yuan had actual trained muscles.

He was the most dazzling offense on the basketball court. Shrieks can be heard every single time he jumped, shot a hoop or ran. Quite a few people’s cheeks flushed red. They were mesmerized by Zong Yuan’s abs which occasionally peeped out, and the sweat that dripped down his forehead.

A few students from the other class went up to Fu Xin and asked, “Hey, are you familiar with that good looking guy? Can you give me his contact info?”

Fu Xin scrunched his eyebrows and looked at Zong Yuan, who was now high-fiving his team mates out of celebration. He didn’t know why he said this, “He doesn’t use phones.”

The person who wanted the contact info felt that it was a pity but didn’t give up, “Does he have a girlfriend?”

It was as if Fu Xin was possessed, “He doesn’t plan to date during his senior year.”

The others walked away in disappointment. Fu Xin’s heart was pounding as his inner conscience felt so guilty. Zong Yuan did a three step dunk and this was extremely captivating. He wiped the sweat from his damp hair and raised his eyebrows triumphantly at Fu Xin.

Loud screams poured out near where Fu Xin was.

Zhang Zhi’liang watched with an emotionless face. He didn’t understand, “With such poor grades, it doesn’t matter how well one plays basketball. Will acting cool get one into a good university?”

While muttering to himself, he had a scan of his surroundings. Those girls that once went to him with blushing faces to ask him questions were now jumping like crazy to cheer Zong Yuan on. His expression grew cold and at that moment, he saw Fu Xin standing by himself.

Fu Xin’s gaze followed Zong Yuan’s movement on the court. He knew how to play basketball, but he simply only knew how to play. Seeing Zong Yuan make the same basketball moves that Fu Xin would normally consider to be rather ordinary, he could feel his heart being tugged and pulled on. Every single time the opposing team advanced forward, he couldn’t help but to feel worried. When he saw Zong Yuan run, he couldn’t hold back his excitement.

He did not notice at all that Zhang Zhi’liang walked up to him.

Zhang Zhi’liang looked at the jacket that was held in his embrace and his smile faded, “Is that Zong Yuan’s?”

Only then did Fu Xin realized that Zhang Zhi’liang was standing right next to him. He was a bit nervous and he clenched the fingers that were holding Zong Yuan’s jacket. Then he relaxed his fingers, “Yeah, they’re Zong Yuan’s.”

Zhang Zhi’liang looked at him with a concerned face, “Is Zong Yuan hard to get along with?”

Fu Xin shook his head, “He’s easy to get along with.”

“Is that so?” Zhang Zhi’liang’s voice became more and more deep. He spoke as if he was trying to intentionally trick him, “He hasn’t bullied you, has he? Or pretend to be easy to get along with?”

Fu Xin abruptly turned his head to stare at him. His dark black eyes made Zhang Zhi’liang stutter a bit and made him feel so uncomfortable that he almost couldn’t continue speaking, “Am..am I wrong?”

“You’re wrong,” Fu Xin made an obvious confused face, “I’ve said it twice already, he’s really easy to get along with.”

Zong Yuan looked back and saw that Fu Xin was talking to Zhang Zhi’liang about something. His face darkened and he made a grouchy frown. With a murderous aura, he walked over to them and grabbed Fu Xin’s wrist. He pulled him to his side and then said. “Classmate Zhang Zhi’liang, what are you talking to my deskmate about?

0046 hit the screenshot button like crazy, “Charming, charming, charming!!! Murder him with your insults!!! He’s definitely trying to trick Fu Xin.”

In the original timeline, it was easy for Zhang Zhi’liang to use tricks like this to trick Fu Xin into falling into a deep trap. He brushed off his shoulders as if it was nothing, but the person that completely trusted him was pushed to the point of death.

Zong Yuan’s face was dark and he turned his head to look at Fu Xin. Impulsively, he pushed himself onto Fu Xin and pointed out, “You weren’t seriously watching me play basketball.”

Fu Xin earnestly nodded his head, “I did watch!”

Zong Yuan frowned, his sweat dripped down from the side of his face, “It was obvious that you were talking to him!”

Zhang Zhi’liang secretly felt pleased, but he kept a straight face and spoke with a slightly angry persuasive tone, “Classmate Zong Yuan, aren’t you trying to control a bit too much? Fu Xin is not obligated to listen to you. It’s quite obvious that you aren’t respecting—”

Fu Xin nodded his head without hesitation and pulled out a piece of tissue paper to hand to Zong Yuan. With an unnoticeable pleasing tone he coaxed, “I was wrong.”

Zong Yuan glimpsed at Zhang Zhi’liang and took the tissue paper. He nodded his head reservedly, ”I forgive you.” He then looked at Zhang Zhi’liang again, “The academic monitor’s words were right and correct. We’ve talked so much already, why don’t we play a round against each other? We’re from the same class, surely you won’t hurt my pride and reject me?

Right from the beginning, his charm caught the attention of others. Regardless of whether he left the court to go find Fu Xin or smiled while talking to Zhang Zhi’liang, every single one of his movements were being watched by people. Zong Yuan was used to being watched, and theoretically speaking, Zhang Zhi’liang should be used to it too since he was the most welcomed person in their class before Zong Yuan came, but now he felt like he couldn’t handle the attention that came from the people who were ridiculing and belittling him.

Zhang Zhi’liang forcibly kept a slight smile, “You have the right number of players already so I won’t participate.”

“Oh, that’s easy,” Zong Yuan never knew when it was the right time to stop; he waved his arm at his team and Yang Fan was the first one to run over.

“Zong Yuan, what’s wrong?”

Zong Yuan patted his shoulders, and pointed his chin towards Zhang Zhi’liang, “Our academic monitor wants to play on the court. Wasn’t there someone on the opposing team that had poor stamina? It’s the perfect chance for him to take a breather.”

Yang Fan patted his own chest, “That’s easy to handle. Come on, academic monitor.”

Zhang Zhi’liang’s smile stiffened as he followed after him.

From the corner of his eyes, Zong Yuan could see that Fu Xin wanted to open his mouth but he held a long slender finger against Fu Xin’s lips, “Shush, stop helping him talk. What can go wrong with just playing a round of basketball?”

Zong Yuan’s finger was warm, and his finger was intimately pushed against Fu Xin’s lips. Fu Xin pushed away his hand and spoke with a low voice, “I wasn’t planning to talk about that.”

Zong Yuan watched Zhang Zhi’liang’s cowardice and scoffed. He patted the back of Fu Xin’s head, “Watch me, watch how your brother will wreck him!”

He rubbed his fists and palms while he walked towards the court.

When Zong Yuan arrived at the court, he twisted his wrist and turned around to his four teammates to say, “If we win this round, it will be my treat. Eat and drink whatever you want, but I only have one request.”

As if he was a hungry wolf that has just spotted prey, he revealed a smile that demanded absolute victory, “They must lose so badly that they will cry for their daddies!”

Everyone else’s blood was boiling with excitement!

  2. I have a feeling ZZL is attracted to Fu Xin, but he doesn't want to accept it, so he's projecting to Fu Xin. Or he felt superior by being liked by him and he felt he could step in him as he like. Either way, what a jerk ಠ_ʖಠ
